Safe Sport

At Squash Quebec, we believe that squash can be played in a healthy and safe way for everyone. Above all else, squash is an activity to have fun, achieve fulfillment and create bonds while respecting other players, stakeholders, parents and children. Here are some resources that support the mandate that Squash Quebec has given itself.

SportBienetre.ca

Promote a healthy and safe sporting environment for young athletes. Through the dissemination of information and awareness-raising measures, we help members of the sport community (athletes, parents, coaches, administrators and other stakeholders) understand, manage and above all eliminate violence in sport under all its forms.

Sport’Aide

Sport’aide is an independent non-profit organization that aims to offer support, listening and orientation services to young athletes, but also to the various players in the Quebec sports world (parents, coaches, sports organizations, officials and volunteers) witnesses of violence against young people.

Canadian Sport Healthline

The Helpline is a listening and referral service that aims to encourage people to speak openly and to validate their concerns regarding situations they feel are unacceptable. This service is free, anonymous, confidential and independent, offered in both official languages. You can reach us by phone, text or email.

Doping prevention

The sport is recognized for promoting health and the holistic development of individuals. However, sometimes there are discrepancies between the positive values we want it to convey and those that are actually present in its practice. Sport is not immune to certain issues of modern society and it is influenced by it. In a system that disregards the fundamental role of sport and promotes victory at all costs, deviations such as violence, cheating, and doping sometimes find their justification. Consequently, the benefits we expect from sport are compromised.
