Montreal Squash League 2026-2027: Season Conditions and Division Structure
Hello everyone,
Following discussions held with several team captains over the past few weeks, we would like to share with all players an update on the proposed participation conditions for the 2026-2027 season, as well as a proposed divisional structure designed to support balanced team formation and provide an enjoyable competitive experience for all participants.
The rating thresholds presented below are intended as guidelines and have been established based on the player levels currently recorded. They may be adjusted as needed according to final registrations and the number of participating teams.
The 2026-2027 season will run from October 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027.
Matches will take place at various squash clubs across the Greater Montreal area according to a schedule developed with consideration for tournaments, holidays, and school breaks.
- Men: Weekly matches.
Matches will primarily be played on weekday evenings starting at 7:00 p.m., as well as on weekends between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Women: Matches every two weeks.

The official schedule, matchups, and playing times will be published on Club Locker by the end of September to allow all participants to plan their season.
Proposed Conditions for the 2026-2027 Season
Men’s Team Composition
- Each team must have a minimum of 6 regular players (maximum of 8 players).
- Each team may designate up to 2 substitutes for the season.
- Substitutes will not be required to pay a registration fee.
Note: Men’s teams may include female players, provided their USR rating corresponds to the level of the division in which they compete.
Women’s Team Composition
- Each team must have a minimum of 3 regular players (maximum of 4 players).
- Each team may designate up to 2 substitutes for the season.
- Substitutes will not be required to pay a registration fee.
Substitute Policy
- A maximum of 2 substitutes per team is permitted.
- A substitute may participate in no more than 2 matches during the season.
- A substitute may not be registered as a substitute for more than one team.
Registration Fees
- Registration fees are set at $70 per regular player.
- Each player will submit payment to their captain.
- The captain will be responsible for forwarding the team’s total payment to: xavier1985@hotmail.com.
Players Without a Team
Any player wishing to participate in the league, but who is not currently affiliated with a team is encouraged to contact the club representative responsible for their club to facilitate placement on a team.

Important Considerations
- Rating thresholds may be adjusted slightly depending on final registration numbers.
- For teams with a large number of players, captains will be responsible for ensuring fair participation throughout the season.
